It's Complicated

Actually, it’s not really that complicated.  It’s simple.  I am in love with the home in the film “It’s Complicated.”  From the first time I saw the film I’ve been enamored with the home.  And since I moved into my apartment, I’ve been cheating on fashion with furniture and interiors 🙂

Even if you’re not a fan of romantic comedies, you should still see the movie because Meryl Streep’s character, Jane, lives in my dream home.  It’s a 1920’s Spanish-style ranch in Santa Barbara, California and the perfect combination of rustic and modern.  I just love the exposed wooden beams, the gorgeous courtyard and garden.  The kitchen is probably my favorite room in the entire home and the bathroom isn’t too shabby either. Although I really enjoy the movie, all I could think about afterwards was this amazing house.

Jane’s bakery is amazing as well, but that’s a whole other post 🙂

What’s your favorite movie home?

Beautiful! Very charming, soft, romantic with a modern feel. I like! But my dream home is Cameron Diaz’s very modern and sleek LA home in the movie “The Holiday” from 2006. I love the colors and the clean line designs!

That’s a great one too! The director of “It’s Complicated,” Nancy Meyers, also directed “The Holiday.” She’s got a thing for filming stories in these beautiful homes. If you haven’t you already, should also watch “Somethings Gotta Give,” it’s filmed in an awesome home in the Hamptons!

I love that house, April! I’d have to say that ONE of my favorite houses from a movie would be ‘Mr. And Mrs. Smith’. I’m not one to love traditional houses but the interior design is amazing! And who wouldn’t want a kitchen that can also store weapons?!?! Lol!!! Love your post!!!

Thanks Teela! The home is “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” IS really cool. I’d love to have a home that is all souped up with the latest technology and weapons, you know, for protection 😉

      Thanks for reading!
